Senator Schedules Public Appearance Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD), a long time advocate for infrastructure investment, is scheduled to speak tomorrow at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, his first public event since being stricken by a debilitating brain hemorrhage in December, according to news reports. Johnson, 60, underwent brain surgery and months of therapy to regain his speech and mobility after suffering a rare brain hemorrhage in December. He remains weak on his right side and uses a wheelchair at times, but he has been working on Senate business from home, aides say. At this writing, sources say the Senator still plans to run for re-election. "He's definitely intending to run. That's his intention," Johnson chief of staff Drey Samuelson told CBS News. But "intending" to run and actually announcing a reelection bid are two different things, the report said. Contact Jerry Voigt.
